There are so many empty shops empty on our streets that are left derelict and untended. Open Sesame has been set up to think about the ways in which we can bring some vibrancy and diversity back into these abandoned spaces.
The overall response to the exhibition has been fantastic. The work was well received with the films from Bertie (which can be seen below) being a particular favourite. The live work is definately something that i feel should be continued as people enjoyed coming in and watching how the work is created and a special thank you must go out to Ashley and Jamie for coming in and spending their time doing it. As for the future of Open Sesame the next exhibition will be towards the end of May in an old abandoned printers on Bennington Street in Cheltenham. The space has a lot of potential, with 8 seperate rooms for a 8 seperate projects. Open Sesame will also soon be running workshops in collaboration with the Learned Chesire Society as a result of this exhibition. Watch this space....
